My answers to
kelkat9:
1. Blonde or Ginger?
I have been both. I will say that, on me, ginger looks better. :) Currently ginger, in fact. Never been ginger in my life until now, and I think I'll stay this way for a while...
2. Be it what you like to write or like to read, what is your favorte genre - adventure, romance, tragedy?
My favorite thing to read is cheeky high fantasy, which works out well because, despite appearances, that is what I like to write the most.
3. What was your first ship and how long did it take you to realize you were shipping them?
My first ship had to be Han Solo and Princess Leia...I didn't know I was shipping them because I was probably 5 or 6...I just loved them together, thought they were hilarious. Still do. :)
4. If you're on my Flist then you like scifi sooooo, who is your favorite Scifi Hero and Heroine? (can be literary, tv or movies)
Hands down, the Doctor and Rose. I absolutely adore the Doctor, in probably every incarnation (though 10 and 9 are my faves), and Rose is the perfect companion because she's strong, she's funny, she's smart and she's very, very real.
5. What is your favorite play and have you seen it live?
My favorite play would be Rent. I, sadly, have never seen it live. :(
6. Zombies, love em or hate em?
Oh, I love 'em. Lots of fun. If I could pick my favorite method of apocalypse, 'twould be zombies. At least then you stand a fighting chance, you know?
7. Do you read multi chaptered fanfiction and if you do, what draws you into the story?
I do indeed! I'm drawn in by good characterizations, great plotlines and attention to detail without being bogged down in too much ala Tolkien. I'll say it, I don't like his writing style. Too much detail, and sometimes he glosses over the action in favor of description.
8. What literary, movie or TV character most closely represents your personality?
The Doctor. Mercurial, quirky, a bit emo, sometimes self-absorbed, hides pain with humor, likes to solve problems and help everyone else out, a fan of adventure and new experiences, vulnerable and perhaps sometimes a bit too taken with how smart I think I am lol ;)
9. Who would make the better Bond, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant or Matt Smith and why?
David Tennant. One word: elegant. More words: sexy, charming, dashing, looks like that in a tuxedo....rawr.
10. Okay DW fans, tell me the truth, which one turns you all squishy - the black leather jacket or the long brown coat?
The black leather jacket. The long brown coat is nice, but both of them looked good in leather. Yum. :)
11. What is the one role that you would like to see David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston play that would have you squeeing and turning into a puddle of goo?
Imagine David Tennant in a kilt and boots, sword across his back and delicious long hair, playing a slightly insane, half-fey, half-human hero that is a whump target, one half of a great love story, and both the comedy relief and the slightly tragic hero of a cheeky high fantasy epic. And there's your first glimpse at my original work. Because some day when I grow up, I'm going to get that sucker published, it's going to be made into a movie, and David Tennant will play that character. I've had the character for years, but never had the right actor until I saw him play Doctor Who. Perfection. When that happens, you'll have to hoover me off the floor. :)
Okay, now 11 things about me:
1. I really enjoy drinking absinthe; not only for the effect, but it tastes pretty good, too.
2. I can taste a dish at a restaurant, come home and get awfully close to replicating it.
3. I didn't listen to popular music until I was in high school, and thus cultivated an appreciation for classical, as well as the music my parents had on record and 8-track (explaining my Beatles/Beach Boys/Groovy 70s obsession). To this day I hear songs on the radio and I think they're new, only to find out they're 20 years old. :) And I still don't listen to popular music all that much.
4. I used to have my own improv comedy group that performed around the area, and we were very, very good. The standouts of the act were my brother and I.
5. If you ask me to do math of any kind, I start to sweat. Mr. Timelord does the checkbook, because it gives me an upset stomach to try.
6. Despite how it might appear on Livejournal, I am utterly terrified of social situations, and I have the self-confidence of lumpy pudding. I want to get published more than anything, and I don't think it'll ever happen.
7. I have a bad habit of handing my heart over to people I meet, opening up too fast, and getting hurt as a result. Currently, I'm trying to break that. It's hard.
8. If you beat a rhythm on it, strum it, pluck it, or drag a bow across it, odds are I can pick it up and figure out how to make it sound pretty.
9. I am an abysmally bad dancer, but I do it anyway. :D Honey badger does not care!
10. One of my favorite things to do down in the lab (aka craft and experiment room) is tie-dye. I've got a whole system, and they come out brilliantly vibrant and don't fade. Soda ash, my friends. You must have soda ash.
11. It's my dream to one day get paid to write my cheeky high fantasy books, live in a big old spooky farmhouse out in the country and have about 8 to 10 beagles, all shelter rescues, and call our house the Hazy Dill Puppy Farm. :)
Now, 11 questions for those I tag:
1. Why do you write (or read) fanfiction?
2. What's the best fanfic you've ever read, and why?
3. What movie are you ashamed to admit you like, but it's secretly one of your favorites?
4. Besides writing (or reading) fic, what's another one of your favorite hobbies?
5. Can you sing, or play an instrument? Don't just answer yes, goofballs. What is it?
6. What's a favorite memory from your childhood?
7. What's your favorite time of year, and why?
8. Who's your favorite Doctor (if you're a who fan - if you're on my flist you probably are) and why?
9. What have you read or seen in fanfic that annoys you the most (specific examples are bad...you can probably figure out why)
10. What's a place unique to where you live that you enjoy the most? (landmark, restaurant, whatever) :)
11. What's your breakfast of choice?

Same here! It's a hard habit to break. But sometimes, I'd rather be known as the girl who is always open and honest then the one who seems to be stand-offish, you know? I've been at both extremes.

Date: 2011-12-08 05:06 pm (UTC)I don't dance. Not even a little. When I went out with the party people, I was on purse patrol since there was no way I was going out to look like Elaine on Seinfeld. On the bright side, I go lots of free drinks!
Yep you and I are sistas regarding the shy and being a bit open to people. I can think of many times that people I was a bit too open with really turned around and hurt me. I am a much more hesitant with people now. I can think of one job in particular where I was pretty much slammed by people that I considered almost family. I ended up leaving that job as quickly as I could and I didn't really care where I ended up as long as it was away from that environment. It took a good year for me to rebuild my confidence after that. It's all good though. It was an important lesson. I think I'm a bit better judge of character now. So, I feel ya Sista!
You would so write a killer novel! You must do it! I too would love to be good enough to publish something someday.

Date: 2011-12-08 06:07 pm (UTC)Hee... I'm the same way with math. I'm TERRIBLE at it.
Music-- yeah, my teen years were what got me loving soundtracks, because "secular" music as it was called in my household was frowned upon.
I hear you all too well on opening your heart too quickly. I've learned the hard way to be cautious in that avenue. I get way too attached way too quickly.
Ooh, good luck on your writer dreams! I think you have a lot of talent and will do well. :)
