What are your top 5 Doctor Who episodes?

A friend is over who hasn't seen all of these, so explanations as to why will come later. I hate spoilers. :)

1 - I love the pace of the show, the monster (very clever), and the fact that the Doctor is both a complete BAMF when he goes to rescue Martha, and utterly helpless when he's fighting the sun inside himself. Plus, DT does the best tortured scream in the history of the world. Also, something just crushes my heart the way he says "I'm so scared!" That kind of stuff just gets me - seeing the truly vulnerable side of a hero.

2. Hilarity, Agatha Christie, the detox scene and how obviously they were enjoying themselves throughout this one puts it in my top 5. It's a sendup of mysteries while being one and paying homage all at the same time. Brilliant!

3. To me this ep is so shippy...it gets to the heart of so much about the Doctor & Rose's relationship. Laughing together in the utility closet when they first arrive, "I believe in her," the way they are with one another in general (Helmet kiss!!!!) Also the way they portray Satan is so creepy and so unsettling...just awesome.

4. Easily, EASILY the best 9 ep (I count this and #3 as single eps) - so much going on here. Creepy, tense, a great mystery, the introduction of Captain Jack, and what I feel is the most redemptive moment of 9's existence. "Just this once, EVERYBODY LIVES!!!" It's like he gets a bit of himself back in that moment and that's what makes is to miraculous.

5. The Doctor is so fresh and new and full of energy and none of the darkness that helps shape his character in later episodes. It makes him more wonderful, of course, but there's also something delightful about new, new Doctor. DT and BP's portrayals of Cassandra are hilarious besides, and "Give her back to me" says so much about how he feels about her. Just love everything about this one.

Top 5 dream cars?

I am a classic car girl, for the most part. Except for #2 :)

1 - 1971 Chevy Nova: This car is pure awesome. All black, leather/cloth interior. How do I know? A friend in college had one. One and only time I was tempted to steal a car. :)

2 - The Lotus Elise Roadster. I will have this car when I'm rich.


3 - The Bentley S3. Tis a classic old car. :)

4 - 1950 Chevy pickup. Adorable! I'd have one in pink, or TARDIS blue. :)

5 - 1967 Mustang. All muscle. Also would be cute in pink. ;)

Top five cities.

1 - Chicago. Many happy times and memories there, and the city is gorgeous and so diverse and wonderful!

2 - Reno. Also chock full of happiness for me. Ken and I went there when we were first dating and that was the trip when I knew for sure I wanted to marry him. We went there on our honeymoon.

3 - London - because I want to go there.

4 - Tokyo - same reason

5 - Madison, WI. A fabulous, artsy, progressive city with fabulous shopping and lots of fun stuff to do!

Haha! Okay this should be fun. There's 2 ways to answer this one - my actual list would include characters nobody's ever heard of (yet!!!) from my original stories, but for now I'll stick to ones everyone knows.

1. Doctor and Rose - they're just fabulous together, both as 9 and 10, though a thousand times more 10 than 9, but still. It's all brilliant.

2. Tristran/Yvaine from Stardust. You'd have to read the book and see the movie to get it, but they are delightful together. I go for couples who are romantic but also real with each other.

3. Westley/Buttercup from The Princess Bride. I also have a thing for fairy tales. :)

4. Eric/Shelley from The Crow. He comes back from the dead to avenge her, and she comes back from the dead to bring him home when his work is done. THAT'S OTP done well.

5. Beatrice/Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing - I love couples that are too wise to woo peaceably. :)

Not your typical list, I suppose, but there you go. At least those characters are known by more than just me lol. :)
