One More Post Before Working...

Because I have LOTS of work to do hee hee hee. This weekend was Fertile Idea Weekend A-Gogo, and I have many more plot bunnies bouncing around in  my head now.

Hopefully posting "Rescues" this week, and continuing work on Geisha Rose. After those are done, and perhaps some shorties along the way, I am going to start on my take on Metacrisis and Rose. It all burst into my head in a glorious wave of creative voodoo while Mr. Timelord and I were out and about this weekend. I think I drove him up the wall telling him plot points and sharing ideas during the Bears game ha ha. My AU will be a little bit steampunk (might be the wrong term, looking at my notes. "Petrolpunk" might be more apt), a little bit manic, with a lot of romance and some fabulous plot twists and whatnots. :) Very excited!!!

Other ideas abound - I'm glad I picked a handy-dandy notebook to carry around with me as my Doctor Who "Spare Brain," or I'd go bonkers trying to keep everything straight. Such a creative surge in the last month or so - I love it!

So, I'm off to get started. I hope. :) If my thought processes don't lock up the minute I start to write them down lol.

That's what I'm working on now - swinging from humor to philosophy, and soon to danger and *ahem* other things before the story's over. Might take a while to get there - I made myself another complicated plot, but I am thinking of trying something new and posting chapter by chapter instead of completing the story first and then doing a re-write before posting the whole thing in a wild spurt. We'll see what happens...If I wasn't so fussy, that would help too.

It's good to explore the genres. I'm sort of doing that with my really loooong fic TEA. I have gone through humor (sort of my comfort zone), Angst, Suspence, Horror, Romance, Fairy Tale/Fanatasy and Western. I haven't written a mystery, introspective or character study yet. Those are on my to do list. As for ahem, "other stuff" It took me a while to work up to that. You definately need to try writing some sexy stuff just to try it out.

Well, I write all my multi chapt fic chapt by chapt. I can tell you I see advantages and disadvantages to it. Advantages - sometimes feedback from reviews helps direct the story to make it more interesting. Disadvantages - For me - I impose a bit of pressure on myself to get a chapt a week done and posted.

If you get stuck on a chapt, I highly recommend using LJ friends to help you out. I moan and groan about my TEA fic all the time and everyone has been very kind and supportive. People have been so wonderful at helping me with a characterization question or a plot issue.

I am DEFINITELY going to need some beta-reading when it comes to the *ahem*. I have no experience in that realm whatsoever. Let me rephrase: I have no experience WRITING in that realm whatsoever. That's better. :)

Perhaps this story will go up chapter by chapter, for a change. The feedback does help tremendously, and I've altered stuff before uploading it based on feedback before. I'll make the Geisha story an experiment!

If you're having someone beta read it, I presume you just ask them and then email the section to them as opposed to posting it and letting them comment on the post. Yeah, that makes sense. I think. I know nothing. :) Thank you for the help!!! :D

Yep, you just message someone and ask and then email. I can read through it for you if want. I don't write really explicit stuff but I don't mind helping other people with theirs. I worked with Who on her first hotsy totsy chapt. She is really good at that stuff by the way. Also, if you want hints, just pick up one of those historical romance fictions (bodice rippers I like to call them). As weird as it sounds, it's a good tool for learning how to go about writing uh intimate scenes. The only other advice I can give you is don't overthink it. It's really easy to get (giggles a bit) technical. It's more about making the reader feel it than it is to be uh technically correct. Okaaaay, now I'm about to have a giggle fit.

Haha okay I will have to check one of those out. :) Avoid technical manual description and go more for the sensual thrills. hee hee hee...

I would very much like it if you'd read my stuff when I get to the fun stuff. :) Thank you!! That way I don't sound silly my first time out the gate. Cuz I'm giggling now and I haven't even gotten there yet. :D

I think we all giggle a bit the first attempt at writing the smutz. You won't sound silly, I promise! I swear it's all the technical stuff - I spent so much time fussing with a bathtub scene. I was soooo overthinking it.

I posted the first 100 words on my journal. :) Nothing kinky, really, but...you'll see. Anyway, I've got to get me a bodice-ripper and start my research. :)

Haha yeah usually I have to stalk the muse with a high-powered rifle, but she had me by the hair this weekend and would not let go. We have an odd relationship. :) She is leaving me with a warren-full of bunnies lately, so I can't complain.
