Speaking of Jackie, is she prostituting or is she just sleeping with men she doesn't know well? The Jackie in canon had a lot of boyfriends. In this AU, I think it makes sense for that to translate into a way for her to support herself and her daughter. This London probably doesn't have much need for hairdressers. That's a bold choice in characterization, but not a bad one, I think. And if I read it wrong, then, boy, is my face red, but I still like it.
