I saw this on develish1's journal and wanted to share! So cute!!! It's from Tumblr, which I have seen many times but do not understand. Could someone explain to me what it is and why it happens?

Tumblr is like Blogger or Kinda like LJ, but it is flash-based I believe.

It's a blogging tool, but you can have several pages within the blog, so lets say you wanted a page devoted to a story, and each chapter was a post(no word/character limit) you have that option, you could have specific pages or misc. pages.

The above commenter was onto something with the "LJ/Blogger meets Twitter" bit, with the crucial difference that tumblr tends to be image based (although you can post all kinds of media). I got into tumblr because I never felt like I had enough to say or the time to say it for LJ, but on tumblr I can collect and share pictures, .gifs, quotes, etc, in a short, quick format. Generally, a personal tumblr page is a mix of original posts and "reblogs". If you choose to subscribe ("follow") another person's tumblr, then you get a feed of his/her posts (like a friends page on LJ) and you have the option of "reblogging" each post, which causes it to appear on your blog, credited to the person you reblogged from.

Tumblr - time-waster, life-ruiner with loads of GIFs, pics and other fun shit. Half the time it is the comments and tags that make it WAY more fun than it should be!
